EcologyFund.com announces new Click to Donate Pollution Reduction Page with help of ELPC and Natsource's Environmental Action Desk

BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS, Apr. 24 -/E-Wire/-- EcologyFund.com (http://www.EcologyFund.com), the largest wilderness protection click-to-donate website, has announced the addition of a new section to extend EarthDay throughout the year. This 'Reduce Pollution' section allows each visitor to click and donate emission reduction credits to remove pollution contributing to global warming and acid rain. Donations will come in the form of credits provided by the Natsource Environmental Action Desk, (http://www.natsource.com/enviroaction/index.htm) which sells CO2, SO2, and NOx credits to the public. Each day a visitor to EcologyFund.com arrives on the 'Reduce Pollution' page and views banners of EcologyFund.com sponsors, credits for removing two pounds of carbon dioxide (CO2) out of the Earth's atmosphere will be provided for free, by the Environmental Action Desk.

As visitors click through to sponsors sites, an additional donation is made. Visiting the sites of EcologyFund.com advertisers like PlanetSave, the Grist, Jobseeker and ENERGYguide enables EcologyFund.com to purchase and retire one half pound of sulfur dioxide (SO2) per site visited.

Credits gathered by the positive action of EcologyFund.com visitors will be donated to the Environmental Law and Policy Center of the Midwest (ELPC), the Midwest's largest environmental advocacy organization. ELPC (www.elpc.org) will then retire the credits, ensuring the continuation of the environmental benefits of reducing the amount of CO2, (the major cause of global warming) and SO2, (the major cause of acid rain) in the atmosphere.

The 'Reduce Pollution' section of EcologyFund also features energy conservation ideas and products in partnership with the ELPC and sponsor ENERGYguide. com. ELPC's "Pollution Calculator" (www.pollutioncalculator.org) site allows people to predict the amount of pollution caused by their energy usage. The "ECOcalc" on ENERGYguide (www.energyguide.com) helps individuals compute the savings in both greenhouse gas reduction and dollars that will result from lowering their thermostat or using compact florescent lights.
