EarthCare Announces Agreement to Acquire LandComp Corporation, an Illinois Landfill Company

DALLAS, TEXAS, Apr. 30 -/E-Wire/-- EarthCare Company (Nasdaq: ECCO) announced today that it has entered into an agreement to acquire LandComp Corporation, a privately owned landfill company in LaSalle County, Illinois. LandComp's newly developed landfill has been in operation for two years. The landfill currently receives approximately 180,000 tons of waste annually and has approximately 45 years of capacity remaining at that volume. Under the terms of the agreement, EarthCare expects to close this transaction by the end of June 2001. The closing is subject to normal and customary conditions, including EarthCare obtaining the necessary letter of credit and bond financing and governmental approvals.
