Pacific Sands Gives Consumer Operations and Marketing Update; Looks Forward
CALIFORNIA, CLOVIS, May. 1 -/E-Wire/-- Pacific Sands (OTCBB: PFSD) is pleased to give several updates on its operations and marketing efforts for the Eco One line of environmentally friendly products for the months of March and April.
March and April Eco One Spa Product sales were up in excess of 60% over the same period last year. Increase in sales is attributed to the following factors: 1) Introduction of four new Eco One independent sales representatives and several new retail outlets. 2) Increased Internet sales. 3) Eco One television commercial.
During the months of March and April, Pacific Sands welcomed four new Eco One sales representatives in Florida, Tennessee, Wisconsin and Northern California. The sales representatives have received their initial orders of Eco One and have begun distribution and marketing to select retail outlets in their areas. Pacific Sands anticipates activating 8 additional Eco One sales representatives during the month of May, effectively covering the bulk of the US market.
Internet sales have also been effective in expanding the Eco One customer base. The company currently has Eco One ads running on www.naturalist.com as well as an article on www.redjellyfish.com and a feature in Investor's Business Daily. Pacific Sands anticipates retiring its Internet e-commerce site as soon as Eco One is available in stores nationwide.
Our Eco One television commercial has also succeeded in expanding our market presence in central California. The raw commercial footage will be made available to our retail outlets along with ad-share financing for radio and television ads.
Pacific Sands president, Stanley Paulis expressed optimism about the progress of the introduction of the Eco One Spa Products to the US marketplace. "We've been four years getting to this point," Mr. Paulis said, "The initial results of our marketing effort have been very encouraging to date with more and more orders coming in every day. We have also initiated discussions with a number of large retail outlets, interested in carrying nontoxic alternative pool and spa products."
Eco One Spa Product sales figures are expected to continue to increase for the remainder of the season as new representatives are introduced, new retailers activated, and Internet, television and radio presence is expanded.
On a related note, Pacific Sands reports that it is currently developing and testing additional chlorine and bromine-free pool and spa products including a pool and spa sanitiser / shock treatment and pool algaecide.
With its very modest burn rate and low debt, Pacific Sands expects to achieve operational profitability in fiscal year 2001.
