Itronics Silver and Gold Sales Increase 286 Percent; GOLD'n GRO Fertilizer Sales up 137 Percent in April and May
NEVADA, RENO, Jun. 5 -/E-Wire/-- Itronics Inc. (OTC BB: ITRO) subsidiary, Itronics Metallurgical, Inc., reported today that silver and gold sales increased
286 percent and GOLD'n GRO fertilizer sales were up 137 percent in April and May 2001 compared to the same months in the year 2000.
"We estimate that the GOLD'n GRO volume of finished product sales increased more
than 420 percent during this period," said Dr. John Whitney, Itronics President. "The greater increase in volume is because, in addition to finished products, Itronics Metallurgical manufactures liquid base products which are used by Western Farm
Service in California to make the finished fertilizers. These are subsequently sold to bulk retail customers, including large horticultural companies and golf courses. Because of this manufacturing structure, actual GOLD'n GRO retail sales growth is significantly larger than direct Itronics Metallurgical sales indicate."
"Our new sales people are working effectively with the Western Farm Service sales organization and we are anticipating that the GOLD'n GRO liquid fertilizer sales growth rate will continue," Dr. Whitney said.
"The silver and gold sales increase is also expected to continue," Dr. Whitney said.
"The supply/demand fundamentals in the gold market have improved and gold prices
have started to increase. While the silver market demand appears to be much larger than supply, according to published statistics, the price is not yet reflecting these fundamentals. However, prices do appear to be strengthening."
Itronics Metallurgical, Inc. sells its popular Silver Nevada Miner bars, a souvenir of the Silver State, and its high performance GOLD'n GRO fertilizer products, which can be used for lawns and plants, through its shopping cart catalog at the Company's Web site http://www.itronics.com.
Itronics Metallurgical, through a proprietary technology, extracts silver and other heavy metals from liquid photographic waste and manufactures environmentally beneficial liquid fertilizers from the remaining material. Its facility in Stead, Nevada, is believed to be the only commercial plant in the world that can accomplish this. Itronics Metallurgical offers 13 multinutrient liquid fertilizer formulas
under the tradename GOLD'n GRO which, when used in different combinations, satisfy the nutritional needs of almost every horticultural crop. The fertilizers are prepared using distilled water.
Itronics Inc. is one of Nevada's leading process technology development companies
and a world leader in photochemical recycling. Headquartered in Reno, Nevada, it specializes in recycling technology development, photobyproduct recycling, silver refining, and technical services for the mining and recycling industries.
