Over 6 Million Square Feet of Rainforest Has Been Saved by Redjellyfish.com

Website "Click to save" Feature Protects Rainforest.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CALIFORNIA, Jun. 11 -/E-Wire/-- Over 6 million square feet of rainforest has been saved by Redjellyfish.com, a privately held corporation, in collaboration with The Nature Conservancy's Adopt an Acre program.

The land was saved through the website's "Click to Save" feature, which is free to Redjellyfish members, and enables them to click on a button to save 21 square feet of rainforest daily.

Environmentally sensitive companies sponsor the feature in exchange for advertising exposure. Among noted sponsors are Aubrey Organics, Orange Guard, The Organic Wine Company, Eco-Resorts.com, The Earth Shop and Santa Barbara Olive Co.

President and CEO, Michael Galli says: "This is such an easy way for web-users to help save rainforest, and they don't have to spend any money to do it"

The sponsors benefit too. They generate a tremendous amount of goodwill with a highly targeted audience. Many sponsors receive letters and e-mails thanking them for sponsoring the Click to Save program.

Redjellyfish also receives constant fan mail from "Jellyheads" as their members are called. "Most people are very concerned about the destruction of the rainforest" says Redjellyfish co-founder Patricia Urkuti, "and they really appreciate having a convenient way to help".

Urkuti also pointed out some of the grim facts about the state of the world's rainforests: "The Rainforests are currently being destroyed at the rate of one acre, or about 2,000 trees per minute" When asked about the effects this would have, she added that "experts estimate 137 plant, animal, and insect species are wiped out every single day due to rainforest destruction".

In addition to the popular Click to Save program, Redjellyfish.com also has beautiful nature postcards, animal puzzles, environmental news, and a green shopping mall with links to hundreds of environmentally friendly online merchants.
