Skip the Tie, Slippers and Aftershave! This Fathers Day Give Dad Something to Warm His Heart
â Adopt an Endangered Sea Turtle in His Name
FLORIDA, GAINESVILLE, Jun. 11 -/E-Wire/-- This Father's Day, surprise Dad with a unique gift that will warm his heart. By "adopting" an endangered sea turtle in his name, you and your Dad can help ensure a little fatherly protection for these ancient creatures of the sea.
For a donation of $25, the Sea Turtle Survival League (STSL) will send your father a personalized adoption certificate, a sea turtle fact sheet, a turtle sticker and magnet, and a one-year subscription to the STSL newsletter, all in a beautiful sea turtle folder. And, for a limited time, every adoption will come with a gorgeous, full-size sea turtle print. Adoption gifts directly support sea turtle research and conservation efforts that are making a real difference in the survival of sea turtles.
Sea turtles have roamed the Earth's oceans for more than 200 million years, since before the time of the dinosaursâand long before man. Early explorers witnessed these fascinating creatures traveling the seas in large fleets. But today, all seven species face extinction; ocean pollution, poorly planned coastal development, and demand for turtle meat, eggs and shells have taken their toll on the turtle population.
"Factors that affect the health of sea turtles and their ocean habitats also affect our own quality of life. We all need clean oceans and healthy beaches. Adopting a sea turtle for Father's Day is a great way to show some fatherly protection for our sea turtle friends," said Dan Evans, Coordinator of the Sea Turtle Survival League.
The Sea Turtle Survival League is a program of the 40-year-old nonprofit Caribbean Conservation Corporation (CCC). CCC is the oldest sea turtle conservation group in the world. Since 1959, CCC has used research, education and advocacy to protect sea turtles and the habitats upon which they depend.
