Attention All CoastWatchers Along the Atlantic Seaboard:
WASHINGTON, DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, Jul. 2 -/E-Wire/-- Check out - www.AtlanticCoastWatch.org - a major convenience for all concerned with environmentally sound use and development of the coastline between the Canadian Maritimes and the eastern Caribbean.
Our services, made possible by grants to the nonprofit Sustainable Development Institute, are free of charge and available to anybody. They include:
The Atlantic CoastWatch newsletter--a bimonthly digest of useful information about coastal development, environmental problems and solutions, fishery issues, species and habitats, restorations, products, publications, upcoming events, job and funding opportunities. Information you can use, no matter whether youâre a coastal professional or an ordinary citizen. âIf you only have time to read one, this is the one to read,â° said one of our readers. Coastal News Nuggets--a weekly listing of daily headlines and press releases, from newspapers, non-governmental organizations, state and federal agencies, and institutions, that we collect while researching for our newsletter. Provided with links to sources, News Nuggets are a conveniently means to stay abreast of region-wide developments. Coastal ConnectionsËan extensive listing of our news sources, developed over five years, with more than 980 sites categorized, sorted and available for download in browser format. Updated every two to three months, Coastal Connections contain not only news related information, but resources that are useful for any individual or group initiating activities or starting a new organization.
Now in its fifth year, Atlantic CoastWatch project has become well-recognized for its dedication to balanced communication services with the core of its audience comprised of scientists, federal and state natural resource managers, educators and environmental advocates.
Citizens indicate Atlantic CoastWatch has given them a means to speak up constructively at town hall meetings, while teachers complement its value for classroom use. For good and for bad, it has been cited at fisheries meetings and re-published in newsletters.
We hope you will visit and come to enjoy the issues we feature, the news we deliver and the brevity of our coverage.
