ENSR International Receives Recognition for Wetlands Restoration Stewardship
Teams with the National Corporate Wetlands Restoration Partnership (CWRP)
MASSACHUSETTS, WESTFORD, Jul. 13 -/E-Wire/-- ENSR International, a leading environmental consulting firm, was recently recognized for helping to restore valuable wetlands with national and state awards from the Assistant Secretary of the Army and the Massachusetts Secretary of Environmental Affairs.
ENSR, a member of the Corporate Wetlands Restoration Partnership since its beginning in 1999, has been involved with numerous wetlands projects and is now joining major corporations, such as The Gillette Company, to promote the wetlands restoration program to companies nationwide. The CWRP program, through the national and state partnerships, promotes restoration of national wetlands and works jointly with major corporations and federal, state and local agencies and academia to combine resources to restore wetlands and aquatic habitats.
"As a corporate partner, ENSR contributes scientific, regulatory and management expertise to these wetlands projects, working closely with federal wetlands regulatory agencies and local government as well as with corporate representatives", said Garrett Hollands, Vice President and ENSR's Wetlands Program National Director. "Over the past year, we have worked closely with John MacKenzie, Director of Environmental Affairs, The Gillette Company, promoting CWRP to high-profile national firms to foster corporate involvement in these important programs nationwide. It's been a growing success-- so far we have added over 30 corporations to our list of companies helping to restore America's wetlands."
ENSR has completed thousands of wetlands projects across the 50 states in the United States and in Canada, South America, Pacific Islands and Asia. ENSR has been selected at both state and federal levels to help shape wetlands policies and regulations relative to wetlands protection, and to provide guidance to agency personnel for review of wetlands creation or restoration projects. In addition, ENSR has contracted with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), New England District, to review their wetlands mitigation projects, and has completed hundreds of projects for the USACE.
