FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

A New Way of Reducing Water Consumption

ARIZONA, PHOENIX, Nov. 7 -/E-Wire/-- The City of Phoenix Parks, Recreation and Library Department witnessed operation of new state of the art turf injection equipment called the Nutrimoist Polimiser Injection System. The equipment is extremely user friendly, safe and cost effective to operate, but perhaps the most exciting feature of the equipment is not "how" the equipment functions, but "what" it delivers to the turf. The system was developed specifically for the purpose of injecting an exciting new turf maintenance product, Nutrimoist™L, into the turf in a virtually non-evasive manner. Through combined research and testing with a bio-nutrient company, American Soil Technologies Inc.(OTC BB:SOYL.OB) (A.S.T.I.) developed a revolutionary process that "partially" hydrates super absorbent polymer with bio-nutrients to formulate Nutrimoist™L. The injection equipment provides the delivery system for a one-step process by which polymer and fertilizer in a viscous liquid form (Nutrimoist™L) can be efficiently injected into turf. Tests show an increase up to 300% in root structure and savings on water usage averaging 35% dependant on soil structure.

Sean Lee, vice president of marketing for A.S.T.I. (www.americansoiltech.com), indicated that development of Nutrimoist™L is an exciting technological breakthrough that combines super absorbent polymer with natural liquid fertilizer. The liquid fertilizer, called BioPlusNutrients, contains macronutrients and micronutrients (including boron, calcium, copper, magnesium, manganese, nitrogen, iron, phosphorous, potassium, sulphur and zinc), microbial stimulators, soil conditioners, humic and colloidal minerals, all in one package. The polymer component of Nutrimoist™L serves as a vehicle to retain the nutrients for release to the plant. However, the polymer component has another very important function in the soil. When the polymer granules come in contact with water they hydrate to hold up to 400 times their weight in water. The polymer, hydrated with water and nutrients, then creates a semi-permeable barrier in the soil by partially sealing voids between the soil particles. This significantly increases the soil's capacity to retain water and fertilizer at the root zone where water and nutrients are most beneficial to plants. The cycle of water retention and release to the plant via the polymer can be repeated virtually hundreds of times, which makes Nutrimoist™L extremely cost effective to use.

According to the National Golf Foundation, maintaining the turf grass on one course requires between 500,000 and 800,000 gallons of water per day (11.5 to 18.4 acre feet) – enough to fill 23 railroad tanker cars. There are approximately 14,100 golf courses in the United States and many of these courses must pay $60 or more per acre-foot for their water. In addition to this source of fresh water consumption, there are approximately 50 million lawns averaging 10,000 square feet each that consume huge volumes of water each day. If we factor in commercial and municipal water usage for turf maintenance, which requires billions of gallons of water per day, we have a picture of the critical need for a turf maintenance product such as Nutrimoist™L that can significantly reduce water usage and, at the same time, produce lush and healthy turf.

The new Nutrimoist™L Polymiser Injection Equipment has successfully installed Nutrimoist™L in turf applications in Arizona, Utah and Idaho. American Soil Technologies, Inc. intends to expand its turf injection program nationally through implementation of a distributorship program. The Nutrimoist Injection System will be showcased Nov. 12th at the Green Industry Show in Tampa, Florida.
