KleenAir Announces Outstanding NOx Test Results at UC Berkeley

FULLERTON, CALIFORNIA, Nov. 20 -/E-Wire/-- KleenAir Systems Inc. (OTCBB:KAIR) announced outstanding results for its NOxMaster® NOx Reduction System in tests at the University of California at Berkeley.

Tests were conducted together with KleenAir licensee, Extengine Transport Systems.

For the past year the Mechanical Engineering Department of UC Berkeley, under the direction of Professor Carlos Fernandez-Pello, has been conducting independent evaluation of the KleenAir/Extengine NOx reduction system. They have issued a white paper outlining the excellent results of approximately 70% NOx reduction.

The California Air Resources Board (CARB) has recently set new emission goals of 70% NOx reduction for urban buses. The UC Berkeley tests demonstrate a consistent ability of KleenAir's NOxMaster® NOx Reduction System to achieve CARB goals.

Tests were recently concluded on city-owned off-road construction vehicles for the City of Houston by Environment Canada. The system demonstrated was the Extengine Advanced Diesel Emission Control (ADEC II) System, which includes the basic NOxMaster® with a diesel oxidizing particulate trap. The Houston tests results are anticipated in mid-December.

KleenAir has a unique computer-controlled ammonia system, the NOxMaster®, which, when injected into the exhaust stream, interacts with NOx produced during combustion. The result converts environmentally hazardous NOx into harmless nitrogen and water.

In addition, the company's catalytic converters and particulate traps significantly reduce particulates as well as hydrocarbons (HC) and carbon monoxide (CO). It is more cost-effective than other available systems and will be ready for delivery in 2002.
