Interface Releases Sustainability Web Site
GEORGIA, KENNESAW, Nov. 26 -/E-Wire/-- Interface Research Corporation has released the first ever online sustainability report for Interface, Inc.
Interfacesustainability.com, is a portal for the stories, metrics and product innovations that best exemplify Interface's progress in creating a more restorative model for industry, by promoting sustainable business practices within its own facilities and throughout the global marketplace.
Interface began its journey towards sustainability in 1995, and issued its first Sustainability Report in 1997. The new web site is the eagerly anticipated update to the 1997 report.
Visitors to http://www.interfacesustainability.com will find tools-oriented information organized into an easily navigable site map, enabling them to choose their own paths throughout the site.
The site features broad-based definitions and explanations of the key elements of sustainability (economic, social, and environmental) with stories and illustrations showing how these items influence the "triple bottom line."
Interfacesustainability.com is designed to enable users of all skill levels to find and use the information and tools that are most helpful to them, whether they are customers, vendors, or interested parties who share the company's vision for sustainability.
Highlights of the site include detailed step-by-step tours of Interface's "Seven Front" approach to sustainability as well as Interface's "Prototypical Company of the 21st Century."
Those seeking graphs, charts and numbers will find all that they are looking for, plus more. The site allows the user to view detailed global and local metrics focused on key indicators such as water management and conservation, energy efficiency/renewable energy, waste elimination and social metrics, thereby also allowing Interface to reach a level of transparency in reporting that no other commercial interiors company has yet been able to provide.
Additionally, the site features success stories from Interface facilities around the globe, illustrating how the company's products and services positively impact building projects in various market sectors.
The site also provides a one-stop section for architects, designers and construction specifiers. Those seeking certification in the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED⢠Green Building Rating System will find it easy to collect the information they need for their documentation processes. Specifiers and design teams will be able to quickly identify and document those Interface products and services that best meet certain credits within the LEED⢠criteria. Plans are also underway to integrate interactive tools for similar rating systems in Europe & Asia-Pacific.
Finally, visitors to the site will find that they can easily navigate between the sustainability information and Interface's corporate web site, as well as the individual Interface brand sites in North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific. Easy access is also provided to global product sample centers to further illustrate the attributes of Interface's most sustainable products and services
