Thermal Energy is Contracted to Confirm Design and Feasibility of Implementing FLU-ACE (Hybrid) Technology at Fraser Papers Mill in Thurso, Quebec
Feasibility Study Expected to Lead to the First FLU-ACE® Condensing Heat Recovery and Air Pollution Control Technology Applications in the Pulp & Paper Industry
CANADA, ONTARIO, OTTAWA, Nov. 27 -/E-Wire/-- Thermal Energy International Inc. (stock symbol CDNX: TMG) is pleased to announce the signing of a contract to establish the best design and to perform a detailed feasibility study regarding the implementation of two (2) FLU-ACE® (Hybrid) systems for Fraser Papers.
Marcel Laganiere, Energy Projects and Optimization Manager at Fraser Papers - Thurso mill says: "Nexfor and its Fraser's pulp & paper companies are committed to reducing energy consumption derived from fossil fuel. This will be achieved through a combination of improved energy management and the installation of more energy efficient equipment. One of the mill's target is to reduce the heating cost related to winter conditions, the FLU-ACE® technology is considered an attractive method to tap on hot gaseous streams. After a month the detailed feasibility study is proceeding on schedule."
It is anticipated that this preliminary design and feasibility study will confirm the required project economic viability, and thereafter lead to the purchase of the proposed FLU-ACE® systems, starting in March 2002.
"These would be the first FLU-ACE® system applications in the Pulp & Paper industry, and as such would be a major breakthrough for Thermal Energy International Inc. One of our goals is to use this installation, with Fraser Papers' permission, as an exemplary site for the Pulp & Paper industry applications of the technology", says George Corluka, Thermal Energy's Vice President of Engineering and Director of Energy Recovery Solutions.
