Marathon Oil Company Selects opsEnvironmental for Global Environmental Management

TEXAS, HOUSTON, Jan. 2 -/E-Wire/-- ESP (Environmental Software Providers) announced today that Marathon Oil Company has selected its opsEnvironmental software for implementation across its exploration and production operations. opsEnvironmental is an enterprise-scale, multi-media environmental management information system (EMIS) software solution which is widely used for environmental management and regulatory compliance. Marathon will implement opsEnvironmental throughout its enterprise. The software will serve as the enterprise environmental complement to Marathon's global SAP implementation.

"We were pleased to select opsEnvironmental as the platform for our global environmental management system," said Daniel J. Sullenbarger, Marathon's Vice President of Health, Environment, Safety, and Security. "Marathon maintains a firm commitment to delivering top quartile health, safety and environmental performance within our peer group. In order to deliver on this commitment, it is necessary to have effective enterprise-wide environmental data management. The modules we have selected will streamline multimedia reporting for air, water, and waste emissions."

Marathon plans to leverage its recent investment as part of a global SAP implementation. "The tie-in with SAP will facilitate streamlined environmental management across all areas of our operations," said Bob Menzie, Marathon's EMIS Team Leader. "The ability to integrate with SAP is a valuable element of the opsEnvironmental software, and will enable us to maximize the benefit of our SAP and EMIS implementation."

David Cox, ESP's Vice President of Sales, noted that the company welcomes the opportunity to add Marathon to its growing list of customers in the petrochemical industry. "ESP is committed to serving the environmental management needs of the petrochemical industry," said Cox. "The opsEnvironmental suite will address challenges including global air emissions tracking, and streamline routine activities such as waste management and environmental record keeping."
