New "Hands-on" Workshop Will Assist Companies with HPV Program Implementation

WASHINGTON, DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, Feb. 5 -/E-Wire/-- Companies involved in the manufacture or usage of High Production Volume (HPV) chemicals will want to take part in a new, interactive Alliance for Chemical Awareness (ACA) workshop on April 9 - 10 at the Pier 5 Hotel in Baltimore, Maryland.

The workshop, entitled "Exposure and HPV Chemicals: A Hands-on Approach," is designed to provide manufacturers with information needed to help them identify the uses and potential exposures to HPV chemicals, including occupational, community and product-related exposures; how to conduct an exposure evaluation; and how to use the ACA's online resource library. Sessions will include hands-on, interactive case studies involving real chemicals.

The workshop will be of particular interest to representatives from HPV sponsors who will have "hands-on" responsibility for either leading or contributing to HPV submissions on a given chemical, where exposure information will be provided; professionals responsible for evaluating the safety of the manufacture, use or disposal of chemicals; or others interested in learning more about the ACA's practical approach to screening level exposure evaluations.

Individuals with a broad range of specialties are encouraged to attend this workshop, including chemical and product safety managers, industrial hygienists, toxicologists, product stewards, regulatory affairs specialists, environmental, health and safety professionals, and trade association technical, scientific, and regulatory affairs directors.

The registration fee for the workshop, which consists of two intensive days and a networking reception, is $250.

Further information can be obtained, and registration is available, through ACA's web site at www.chemicalawareness.org.
