FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DynaMotive/Canfor Planning a 200 TPD BioOil Plant in British Columbia

Wood Residue to Produce BioOil for Local and Export Markets

CANADA, BRITISH COLUMBIA, VANCOUVER, Feb. 26 -/E-Wire/-- VANCOUVER, BC, Canada, Feb. 26 -/E-Wire/-- DynaMotive Energy Systems Corporation (OTCBB: DYMTF) and Canadian Forest Product Ltd. (Canfor) (TSE:CFP) announced today the commencement of a joint technical review for the development and construction of a 200 tonne per day demonstration BioOil plant in British Columbia, Canada. The Demonstration Plant would be the last step before full commercialisation of DynaMotive’s BioOil technology. Subject to the technical review and project financing, the plant would be constructed along side an existing Canfor facility, that would provide wood residue for conversion into BioOil.

The Demonstration Plant would be the first of its kind in Canada, and would allow Canfor to offset wood residue disposal costs, and to potentially displace natural gas consumption in lumber dry kilns and pulp mill lime kilns. Among the key benefits are diminished residue disposal and energy costs, diminished environmental impact and the creation of marketable green certificates by the displacement of fossil fuels with a renewable fuel.

In addition, the Plant would provide excess BioOil, which would be utilized in the development of more lucrative opportunities in British Columbia’s export markets (i.e. U.S., Japan).

Commenting on the project, DynaMotive’s Chief Operating Officer, Rodolfo L. Guido said, “This is a project that seeks to resolve existing energy and environmental needs of the forest industry while looking positively to a future where BioOil can establish itself as a new export commodity. Over the past year, Canfor and DynaMotive have been working proactively to reach this juncture. The technical results from the successful operation of the 10 tonne per day Vancouver Pilot Plant have given us confidence in moving forward. This project is set to demonstrate the commercial, environmental and financial benefits that can be gained by integrating DynaMotive’s systems with forest industry installations.â€쳌

Michael Jordan, Canfor’s Corporate Environment and Energy Manager said, “This initiative is part of Canfor’s aggressive strategy to pursue value-added alternatives to the disposal of sawmill wood residues.â€쳌

Canfor is an integrated forest company based in Vancouver, Canada. With sales of approximately $2 billion in 2001, Canfor is the largest producer of softwood lumber and market pulp in Canada and one of the largest in North America. Canfor employs over 5,700 people in 13 sawmills, 2 pulp mills, one specialty paper mill and other operations in BC, Alberta and Washington State.

DynaMotive is an energy systems company that is focused on the development of innovative energy solutions based on its patented pyrolysis system. Through the application of its technology and know how, the Company intends to tap into abundant organic resources that are generally discarded by the agricultural and forest industries at a cost, and convert them into a renewable and environmentally friendly fuel. Examples include forestry residues such as wood, bark and agricultural residues, such as sugar cane bagasse. The Company has successfully converted each of these residues into BioOil and char making them a renewable and environmentally friendly oil and char reserve that is available worldwide.
